Role Responsibilities and Requirements:
Seeking a Foundry Engineer to be responsible for designing and implementing gating on all tooling with the goal of producing sound castings. Strong focus on meeting company’s scrap goals by problem solving and implementing changes to reduce scrap in operations. Works with the Quality Department to review, analyze, and evaluate samples and conduct corrections when needed. Partners with customers to design castings with improved mold ability. Also responsible for completing solidification modeling on parts to be gated/re-gated.
- Five-plus years of experience in a foundry environment with a background in gating grey and ductile castings is required.
- A four-year degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering is desired.
- Experience with CAD, in-mold ductile and computer solidification is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of pattern and core box construction/building, green sand foundry procedures, Isocure core processes, and parting lines is critical.
