Role Responsibilities and Requirements:
Searching for a Melt Manager to direct all aspects of operations within the Melt Department. Serves as a strong supporter of safety, ensuring adherence with all established safety policies and procedures and identifying and eliminating any safety issues that arise.
Responsible for directly managing more than 30 melt employees who oversee the Furnace Operators, Magnet Operators, Auto Pour Operators and Ladle Repair Worker. Leads job training for new employees. Also monitors and evaluates job performance of subordinates and conducts reviews.
Develops the monthly department production plans and work schedules and monitors department performance against goals to maintain efficient use of workforce, equipment, and materials. Ensures that all work is completed in accordance with laws and regulations and follows ISO9001 compliance procedures. Also responsible for managing inventory control and monthly recording.
- Five-plus years of experience with furnace and melt deck equipment and operations is required.
- Working knowledge of iron melt chemistry and calculating changes is a must.
- Prior experience in a leadership/supervisory position is desired.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required; two- or four-year degree and/or technical/management coursework is a plus.
